The Space Coast Judo Club started in Daytona in 1960. In 1972 I moved my
club to the Melbourne area. Pat McMahon was teaching at the base in
Cocoa Beach, Patrick Air Force Base. She (Pat) had other obligations and
was going to have to close down the club. She knew I was interested in
starting classes in the area, so Pat offered the class she was teaching to me.
This afforded me a good starting base with a new club in a new area.
The following pictures are of all of my clubs starting at the Y.M.C.A.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures. They are very old.

This is my first club at the Y.M.C.A.

After the Y.M.C.A.
I started my own school

If you read "Harold's Story", that is Harold front row right.

Made out of sawdust, carpet padding, and 2x4's
Covered with one large mat cover.

This is an all women's judo class. I had so many students that I had to split them up.

Yup! That's me being thrown. That's a whole lot of legs huh!

Same class with ages ranging from 12 years to 45.
