Hi!
my name is David Daley
Here
I am hard at work. The pictures on the side is of my RX7.
I
loved that car. But, I decided to travel for a few years. So I bought
a
35 ft' travel trailer and the Suburban (above) and traveled for about 2
years.
I
made it up the East Coast and down the Mid West. I stopped in
Melbourne
Florida for awhile and had both knees replaced. I'm still here.
In
2004 I lost everything thanks to 4 hurricanes that made a direct hit
on
my place. I went to Ocala Fl. and bought a couple acres with a 2 bedroom
house
in the middle. If you would like to see it, go to this link.

I
am working with a friend on Big Rig Accidents.
He
is an expert witness for all truck accidents.
Well
here it is in a nut shell. A little bit about me.
I
was born and reared in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I left home at 17. Joined
the
Navy
and flew in two engine Jet bombers. I was attached to Heavy Nine,
VAH-9.
I spent 11 months aboard the Saratoga. I flew recon missions
over
Lebanon in 59 and was Discharged in 1960 at Sanford Florida.
Got
Married and divorced twice in Daytona Beach, Fla. for a total of 3 years.
I
decided that Daytona was no place to be married, with Easter break and
all.
I
left Daytona and went to college. Attended University of Florida
and
Florida
Tech. I have a BSMET degree. Now that I'm retired the only way
I
use it is to analyze the hell out of everything.
I
studied the art of fighting with saber and broad sword before
it
became popular.
I
took a class in "N.Y. street fighting" which taught you how to
defend
yourself against knife and club attacks.
I
played Pool professionally. Back then it was called hustling.
I
played for $600 a game. Got through college playing pool.
My
professional name was "The Mayor".
I
taught Judo for 25 years starting in Daytona Beach.
I
taught at the Daytona YMCA. Then I Opened my own
school
called The Daytona School of Judo. I also taught at the Daytona
Community
College. When I went to a four year University, I moved my
school
to the Melbourne, Palm Bay, Florida area. The name of my club was
called
the "Space Coast Judo Club". I taught at the Eau Gallie Civic Center,
Patrick
Air Force Base, Melbourne Civic Center, Cocoa Beach Recreation,
and
I built my own club attached to my house. The Space Coast Judo Club
was
active up until 1990 at which time I retired. I'm not old enough to retire
but
I did so anyway. I now spend my time on the internet doing "Stuff". The
people
old enough to remember, will know what "Stuff" is. I try to live
my
life
the way I was influenced by the sport of Judo. I have adapted the "mottos"
of
Judo to my personal life. "Mutual Welfare", and "Maximum Efficiency"
has
given me the self confidence and the desire to take on hard tasks.
I
used to tell my students that "Before I took Judo I used to run from a
fight,
but now, after taking Judo, I still run, I just run with more confidence".
If
you are thinking about starting Judo, I can give you just this advice;
Check
out the instructor. By this I mean, Make sure he is registered with
one
of the two organizations that govern Judo. Make sure his club is
registered.
Talk to his students and listen to what they say. Watch his class
and
see if they are having fun. Find out if there are any serious injuries
in the
club.
Safety is the most important concern of a good, qualified instructor.
Once
you join, give your instructor 100% at all times.
The
most prized aspect for your Sensei is Loyalty.
Your
Sensei is the best friend you have and Loyalty means everything.
Students
leave for various reasons but with a good student, loyalty
remains
forever.
My
fun things to do are Drive Sport Cars,Teach Judo, Play Pool, Golf,
Snow Ski,
Fish,
Play Basketball, Grow Flowers, Cook Gourmet' Meals and Shoot my
Revolver.
I now have artificial knees so I had to give up Running, Tennis,
Playing
Basketball, Snow Skiing, Judo, and a whole bunch of "stuff" I wanted to
try.
My
next endeavor is to buy a motorcycle and get someone to teach me how
to
ride. I would like to cruse the west coast and the wine vinyards.
That
is if I don't take my dirt nap first.
